Berta Sofie var født i 1881, og var datter av Gabriel Samuelsen Usken og Olufine Olsdatter Strøm. Hun giftet seg i 1907 med Sigurd Bendiksen. De bodde i Stavanger. Sammen fikk de ? barn; a) Carsten f. 1908, b) Olufine Davida f. 1910, c) Gustav f. 1912, d) Sverre f. 1915. Berta døde i 1967, i en alder av 86 år.
