Biography
Birth and Christening
Olof was born January 2, 1749, at the croft Örnahult in the parish of Bolmsö, as the son of Gabriel Nilsson and his wife Anna Nilsdotter. He was christened January 8 and his godparents were his paternal grandmother Kierstin at Åsebo, the maid (?) Johansdotter in Håringe, and Maria Svensdotter in Ugglebo.[1]
Childhood
Örnahult was a croft under the estate of the manor Stavshult. Around 1755 the family moved to Åsebo, the home of Olof's paternal grandparents.[2]
Family
April 5, 1779, Olof married Brita Svensdotter from Torp in the same parish.[3] She moved in with him.[4] and together they had four daughters.
- Stina (1780 - ) married to Mårten Svensson
- Elin (1786-1815) married to the shoemaker Gustaf Johansson at Stora Lida.
- Anna (1791 - ) married to Peter Nilsson
- Brita (1795 - 1806)
Brita died of consumption in January 1804.[5]
Death and Burial
Olof died of illness in his chest May 10, 1806, and was buried May 26.[6]
