Biography
Ann Gadsden was born in 1768 to unknown parents, probably in the Stony Stratford/Wolverton area of Buckinghamshire.
In late 1780s or early 1790s Anne Gadsden married Sampson Wills (1764-circa 1830), a stone mason born in 1764. [1] The Wills family were well established masons in the Stony Stratford/Wolverton area of Buckinghamshire for a number of generations. [1] They were noted for their skill in the construction of arched bridges and the repair of church buildings. [2]
Anne and Sampson Wills had a son:
- George Wills (1793-1856), who was also a stonemason. George Wills was born in Stony Stratford, Buckinghamshire, on 22 February 1793. [1] George Wills was a stone mason, following in the tradition of his father and grandfather. Lord Grafton [possibly: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henry_FitzRoy,_5th_Duke_of_Grafton] was patron to the family. At Grafton's invitation, George Wills moved to Blisworth, Northamptonshire in the early 1840s to oversee construction of a stoneworks.
Sampson Wills passed away about 1830. [1]
Anne (Gadsden) Wills passed away about 1830.
