JA cannot be found on the 1940 census, though it looks like his minor children can be found various places, indicating, perhaps that JA died before 1940, and perhaps his wife did as well. Last known place is Scott County, Arkansas.

JA appears to be the son of Tilford Gage and Martha Wall. There is no support for the name William or the initial W. There is support for the name Andrew^[2] and the name James^[1].
