Canada: Either way is good, but possible confusion between the Canada of Jacques-Cartier in Nouvelle-France and the actual Canada (Confederation, 1867). Same name, very different territory.

The territory of Nouvelle-France was divided into colonies, each with its own administration: Canada, Acadia, Newfoundland (Plaisance), and Louisiana.

Then should not we use .... St-François, île d'Orléans, Canada, Nouvelle-France

Locations are in Nouvelle-France before February 10, 1763 ("Traité de Paris").
