Pierre Gagne served with French-Canadians Rendering Aid during the American Revolution.
Pierre, the son of Jacques Gagne and Marie Anne Gagnon, was born and baptized 10 April 1744 in St-Francois Ile d’Orléans. The parish register identifies his father as Jean Gagné and his godparents as Jean Gagné and Marie Anne Racine.[1]
On 11 November 1765, he married Marie Plante at St-Jean Ile d’Orléans in the presence of Augustin Gagnon.[2][3] The records do not mention the parents of Marie Plante, but PRDH identifies them as Francois Plante & Marie Madeleine Caron from family #18043.

Widowed, he married Marie Madeleine Plante, fille de Paul Plante & Perpétue Greffart (from family #19160) on 20 August 1770, St-Jean Ile d’Orléans in the presence of Joseph Olivier, Jean Baptiste, Marie Anne & Louise Gagné, siblings of Pierre; Pierre Noel & Charles Plance, cousins of Pierre; Jean Audibert, cousin of Marie Madeleine.[4]

Jean Baptiste Gagné, n. 9 Oct 1776, d. 2 Jun 1776, (Died Young)
Widowed a second time, he married Marie Josephe Charbonneau on 18 June 1798 in Repentigny. The parish record identifies him as "Pierre Gagner, veuf de Marie Magdeleine Plante de la paroisse de St Paul d'une part" and his spouse as "fille majeure de Jean Charbonneau & Marie Josephe Bruyette."[6][7]
Pierre passed away at the age of 70 on 4 February 1813 and was buried two days later in Mascouche.[8]

Pierre Gagné, among several other men listed are the most disloyal subjects in this parish. Last fall they led a group of 20 to 25 men to the end of the island to oppose the government’s orders.
Everyone with the exception of the newly appointed officers, had stood guard last winter, most of them willingly, although a few parishioners did refuse to go when ordered to do so. [9]
