The family included Alfred Gagnon, 50, born at sea in Sept. 1850, a wood carver; his wife of 21 years, Jennie, 42, b. New York in Oct. 1858, who had had one child; and their son, Jerome, 13, b. In 1905, the Gagnon family lived in Watertown, Jefferson, New York. The household included Alfred Gagnon, 52; his wife, Sarah, 39; and son, Jerome, 18. [3]

In 1910, the Gagnon family lived in a rented house at 537 Jefferson St., Watertown, New York. The household included Jerome Gagnon, 22, born in New York, a self-employed printer; his wife of three years (m. about 1907, 1st for both), Marna J., 22, born in Illinois, who had had no children; and his father, Alfred Gagnon, 58, born in New York (parents b. Canada), married 31 years (widowed?), a cabinet maker at a chair factory. [4]

It is woodframe, with clapboard and shingle siding. The house is located a block from Factory Street, near the extreme bend in the Black River. [5]
On 5 June 1917, in Watertown, Jefferson, New York, Jerome Eugene Gagnon registered for the WWI Draft. He was born 9 May 1887 in Gouverneur, New York. He was of medium height, stout build, with blue eyes and brown hair. Jerome provided support to his wife and father. They lived at 322 Franklin, Watertown, New York. [6]
Jerome’s first wife Mary J. (Nellis) Gagnon, 31, died on 26 October 1918 in Watertown, New York. (burial unknown). [7]

Jerome E. Gagnon, 32, and Marion M. LaShomb, 19, were married on 17 June 1919 in Watertown, New York. Cornelius Mahoney officiated. Jerome, a widower, had been married once before. He was born in Gouverneur, New York, the son of Alfred Gagnon (b. Canada) and Sarah J. Sellers (b. NY). He worked as a printer, and resided at 322 Franklin St., Watertown. Marion, a clerk, resided at 220 N. Orchard St., Watertown. She was born in Brasher, New York, the daughter of William LaShomb and Mary LeClair (both b. NY). [8]
