Marie Geneviève (Gagné) Fournier was born in 1748 in Cap St. Ignace, Montmagny, Nouvelle-France. She was the daughter of Pierre-Augustin Gagné and Élisabeth (Fortin) Gagné. She married Pierre Fournier on November 23, 1767 in Cap St. Ignace, Montmagny, Nouvelle-France. She passed away in 1790 in Montmagny, Lower Canada.
