She married John Fling on Jan. 4, 1816 near Meadowville in Randolph County, Virginia, now Barbour County, West Virginia.[1] The ceremony was performed by Rev. Simeon Harris, a pastor of Bethel Chapel.[2]
Elizabeth and husband John Fling moved to present-day Gilmer County about 1830. Her parents and many siblings followed soon after.
She is buried next to John Fling in the Tanner Baptist Church Cemetery. The inscription has worn away from the original headstone at the grave. A modern marker was placed at the site by former cemetery trustees. Two of her brothers are also buried in this cemetery[3][4]
