A Ruth Gaither married in 1695 in Anne Arundel Co, MD (1) John Warfield, b. Abington, Anne Arundel Co, Marylan d 1674.

This is probably not Ruth, widow of John Gaither, who was still living at the time. This is contradicted in "The Founders of Anne Arundel and Howard Counties, Maryland, p 108.[15]

Ruthe Gather was born 8 Sep 1679 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, the daughter of John Gather and Ruthe Gather. [17]


John Warfield, Husband, was born abt 1674 at Abington, Anne Arundel County, Maryland, son of Richard Warfield, Sr, and Elinor Brown.[18]

Captain Richard Warfield, married 1676, Elinor, the daughter of Captain John Browne. (see pp 82-84)[19]

Elisha Warfield, fourth son of Benjamin Warfield, a member of the Committee of Observation of Anne Arundel County, Md. During the Revolutionary War, removed to Kentucky in 1790, and settled at Sugar Grove near Lexington. He married sedond, Ruth, the daughter of Captain Joseph and Elizabeth (Dorsey) Burgess; issue, fourteen children. Nancy Dorsey, the thirteenth child, married Dr. Samuel Theobald.[21]
