Jesse Galbraith was born on January 27, 1883 in Cattaraugus County New York to Robert Galbraith and Emma Wade. He lived with his parents and many siblings in Cold Spring, Napoli, Cattaraugus, New York in 1892. [1] In 1905, Jesse is shown with his mother and siblings in Salamanca, Cattaraugus, New York, and appears as a boarder in Great Valley, Cattaraugus, New York. [2][3]
Jesse married Jennie B., last name unknown, in 1906. They lived together (no children) in Cold Spring, Cattaraugus, New York in 1910. [4]
Jesse married Ethel Snyder Goodemote, daughter of George Peter Snyder and Evaline King, and widow of Frank Goodemote, on November 18, 1916 in Jamestown, Chautauqua, New York. She was 38 years old, and employed at that time as a textile worker. Jesse, age 33, was a widower, and this was a second marriage for him as well. He was a farmer. [5][6]
Jesse, age 35, registered for the United States World War I military draft on September 11, 1918 in Meadville, Crawford, Pennsylvania. He was employed as a fireman for the railroad in Meadville. His nearest relative was his wife Ethel, also a resident of Meadville. [7]
Ethel and Jesse had one daughter, Vivian, born in 1919.
In 1930, Jesse and Ethel, and their daughter, Vivian, and Ethel's daughter, Bernice, lived in Napoli, Cattaraugus, New York. [8] Jesse and Ethel were residents of Machias, Cattaraugus, New York in 1940. [9]
Jesse died on February 8, 1955 in Jamestown, Chautauqua, New York at the age of 72 and was buried in East Randolph Cemetery, East Randolph, Cattaraugus, New York. [10][11]
