Biography

Thomas Seymour Galbraith was born Cappard 1829/1830. [1]

He was the son of Richard Galbraith (of Cappard) & Lavinia Seymour. [2]

He married:

  1. 1848 Mary Smyth, Dublin. [3][4]
  2. ~1863 Mary Heaney, Ireland. (Marriage date estimated based on daughter Frances aged 17 in 1881.[5])

Thomas had 9 children with Mary Heaney[6], including:

  • 1864 Frances Galbraith, Ireland. Married Unknown Russell. Died New York 1906.
  • 1868 Richard H Galbraith, Ireland. Plumber. Died New York 1915.
  • 1871 James Galbraith. Married Mary Slevin, New York 1895.
  • 1872 Sadie A Galbraith, Ireland. Married Charles Kingsbury, New York 1896.
  • 1876 William Galbraith, Ireland. Labourer. Died New York 1909.
  • 1877 John J Galbraith, Ireland. Electrician. Died New York 1908.

He emigrated from Ireland to the USA with his family in 1881. [5]

In 1881 Thomas was a labourer. [5]

In 1886 he was an "agent" residing in New York (441 East 42nd Street). [7]

Thomas died New York 19 March 1889, aged 59. [1]
