Jane was born in about 1830, and was the daughter of Hugh Galbraith^[1] and Anne Clarendon.^{[citation needed]}

Jane Galbraith married Alexander Cormac, son of Donald, on 4 Dec 1851 at St Michans, Dublin.^[1] Griffith's Valuation Roll shows that Alexander was living at Dyer Street in 1851.

Children:

• Hugh, born in about 1854, and died on 7 May 1896, aged 42 years.^[2] Hugh was a provision merchant from Dwer (sic) Street, Drogheda. The executor of his effects was George Galbraith of Shop-street, Drogheda, merchant.^[3]
• Margaret was born in about 1857, she was only three when she died on 20 Nov 1860. She was buried at St Peter's, and the family were residing at Dyer Street at the time.
• Jane, born in about 1859,^[4] and died on 23 Dec 1887 at Dyer Street, Drogheda, a spinster. Jane's effect's were granted to her mother, Jane (widow).^[5]
• Alexandra Catherine, born in about 1861,^[6][7] and married Andrew Watt in 1881.^[8]
• George, born in 1863, and died in 1922.^[9]
• Alexander, born in 1864 and his birth was registered at Drogheda.^[10] He died before his first birthday in 1865.^[11]
• Daniel Alexander, born 27 Jun 1866, family residing at Dyer Street, Drogheda. ^[12] He died in Chicago in 1918, unmarried.^[13]
• Elizabeth, born 1 Aug 1868 at West Wd St Peters, Louth.^[14][15] Elizabeth remained unmarried and lived with her brother George at the time that the 1901 and 1911 census's were taken. ^[16][17]
• Margaret, born 14 June 1870, registered at Drogheda.^[18] and christened at St. Peters West Ward, Louth.^[19]
• William, born on 11 Aug 1871 at Dyer Street Drogheda,^[20] and christened at St. Peters West Ward, Lough. ^[21] William died before his first birthday in 1871.^[22]

Janes mother, Anne Galbraith (Clarendon) died in 1849 aged 45, Jane along with her sister Matilda, erected a headstone for their mother's grave in the surrounding St Peter's

In 1883, Janes father, Hugh Galbraith died, and was buried at St. Peters Church of Ireland.^[23]
