Biography

Frances George Galbraith was born on 24 Dec 1816 in Dandridge, Jefferson, Tennessee, United States, daughter of James Galbraith (1789 - ~1860) and Martha (Hoskins) Galbraith (~1796 - ~1824).

Frances married Christopher Rankin , son of Thomas Rankin and Jennet Bradshaw, on 6 Oct 1833.[1] Their children were:

  1. James Thomas Rankin (1834 - 1901)
  2. Captain Samuel Edwin Rankin (1839 - 1900)
  3. Christopher Houston Rankin (1851 - 1932)
  4. Joseph Marshall Rankin (1854 - 1932).

Frances died on 4 Jun 1906[2] in Dandridge aged 89.
