Biography

John Joel Gale was born in 1886 in Albury, New South Wales, Australia, the son of Phoebe Elizabeth (Marshall) Gale and John Gale.^[1]

He married Eva Olive Macklin in 1910 in Victoria.^[2] Their children were:

• Robert John Gale (1911–?)^[3]
• Eva Irene Phyllis Gale (1915–?)^[4]

John died on 4 June 1959 in Melbourne, Victoria, aged 72 years.^[5] His remains were buried at Springvale Botanical Cemetery, Victoria.^{[citation needed]}
