Biography
Son of John and Lydia (Benjamin) Gale.
Jonas married Mary Benjamin, daughter of Daniel and Mary (Bond) Benjamin, on 10 Mar 1747 at Waltham, Middlesex, Massachusetts Bay, Their children were Joshua, Mary, Jonus, Sarah, Isaac, Abel, Lydia, Susanna and Oliver Gale. Daniel Benjamin had been appointed Guardian to Jonas and his sibs when their father died.
Jonus was a jeweler and moved to Worcester until about 1768 when he moved to Holden where he died. In his will dated 20 Sep 1784, he refers to his wife Mary, so she must have outlived him.
Jonas is buried at Old Burying Ground, Holden, Worcester, Massachusetts, USA
