Biography

William was born in 1811. He was the son of Lucy Thorn and William Gale[1].

He married Emily Clifford on 29 Oct 1836.[2][3]

They had at least 9 children: Sarah Elizabeth, Harriet Newell, William Harrison, Mary Francis, William Francis, John William, Clara Augusta, Emily Ann, and Andrew L.

In 1850 he was living with his wife, four children (Sarah, Harriet, Mary and CLara), his widowed mother, and Abigail Thom, likely a relative on his mother's side, perhaps a cousin.[4]

In 1860 he was living with his wife, four children (Sarah, Mary, Clara and Andrew), and his widowed mother.[5]

By 1870 it was just him and his wife and their youngest child, Andrew.[6]

In 1880 it was just the couple.[7]

He passed away in 1896.[8] and is burried in Mount Prospect Cemetery, Amesbury, MA.[9]
