Biography

Ellen was born on 13 November 1865 in Beaver Bank Nova Scotia, Canada [1]and baptized on 17 December 1864 in St. Mary's, Guysborough, Nova Scotia, Canada. She was the daughter of Mathew Galigan and Mary Keleher [2]

On 30 May 1892 in Halifax, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada she married Charles F. Holland, born in Duncan’s Cove Nova Scotia, Canada. Son of Thomas Holland and Catherine. [3] Together they had the following children all born in Nova Scotia, Canada

Lillian Catherine Holland born 15 June 1893 baptized 22 June 1893 [4] died 19 March 1928[5]
Thomas James Holland born 15 January 1895 baptism January 1895 [6] married Barbara Marguerite Johnson 30 June 1924[7]
Charles Matthew Holland born 1 October 1899 baptism 9 October 1899 [8] married Josephine Muriel Barnstead 3 July 1930[9]
Madeline Cecilia Holland born 7 April 1903 baptism 13 April 1903 [10] died 22 July 1924[11]
Cecil Francis Holland born 29 November 1906 baptism 6 Dec 1906[12]

In 1901 they were living in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. I believe he was a butler. They both had Irish roots and were Roman Catholic.[13] They remained in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and in 1911 he’s listed as a grocer.[14]

On 20 August 1929 in Lower Sackville, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada at the age of 64, Ellen passed away. [15]

She was laid to rest at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Halifax, Halifax County, Nova Scotia, Canada.[16]
