Biography

George Gallimore was born in about 1835 in Congleton, Cheshire.

George married Bridget Linnett or Lynett (known as Ann) on 21 Apr 1856 at the parish church in Prestbury, Cheshire. George was a chair-maker aged 21, Ann was 19; both lived in Macclesfield. Their fathers were John Gallimore (weaver) and John Linnett (tailor).

Their daughter Mary was born in about July 1857 in either Congleton, Cheshire or Accrington, Lancashire depending which census is correct.[1] (She married Lemuel Clegg in 1880.[2])

Their son John was born in 1858 in Haslingden, Lancashire.[3]

Their son George was born in 1860 in Congleton, Cheshire.[4] He was christened on 15 May 1860 in Congleton, presumably as a Catholic since the record is in Latin; his mother's name has been transcribed as Bridgida Loinet Gallimore.[5]

Their daughter Harriet was born in 1862 in Congleton, Cheshire.[6]

Their daughter Elizabeth Alice was born on 6 Jun 1874 in Rochdale, Lancashire.[7][8] She was christened on 6 Sep 1874 at the church of St John the Evangelist in Facit, Lancashire. Her father's occupation was recorded as scutcher, and the family's address as Facit.[9]

Ann died on 19 Dec 1903 in Marysville, York County, New Brunswick, Canada. She was buried in Alexander Gibson Memorial Cemetery in Marysville.

George died on 15 Jun 1907 in Marysville, and was buried with Ann.
