Richard was a Friend (Quaker)

Richard Galloway, son of Richard and Hannah, born 28th day of 11 month, 1663 is recorded in the West River Monthly Meeting Register of the Quaker church.[1]

His first marriage is also recorded in the same source as:

Richard Galloway married 10th day of 10th month called December, 1686 to Elizabeth Lawrence, widow, Anne Arundel County, at William Richardson's house near West River. His second marriage is recorded as:
Richard Galloway, Sr. and Sarah Sparrow - intentions to marry - 27th day of 2st month 1719 and 24th day of 5th month 1719. The record does not mention her parents.[2]

No records of the births of his children have been found.

Richard Galloway signed his will at West River on the 8th of OCT 1736. In it he mentions his wife, Sarah to have the use of his plantation during her widowhood, his granddaughter, Elizabeth (under age 25), the daughter of his son Richard, to have a 500 acre tract in Elk Ridge. His son Richard to have his boat and half his personal estate. A kinsman named Joseph Galloway is given five pounds gold for the use of the Quakers for any reason whatsoever.[3]
