Charles Neale Galloway, 85, of Clarke County, died yesterday in Winchester Memorial Hospital. He was born on February 8, 1873, in Loudoun County, a son of the late Charles and Susannah Grubb Galloway. His wife, Mrs. Bessie Neill Galloway, died February 23, 1935. Mr. Galloway was a retired farmer. He is survived by one son, Charles Henry Smith Galloway of Berryville, and two grandchildren, Charles William Collier Galloway and Mary Elizabeth Galloway.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Marvin Chapel Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Kenneth Whetzel. Interment will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Berryville. The body is resting at the John H. Enders Funeral Home.
Loudoun County Historic Property: The John Grubbs' House on Route 687 was built in 1827 by William Grubbs. From 1899 until 1919 it was owned by Charles N. Galloway. He sold it in 1919 to James Samuel Harris.
