Archibald's will was dated 24 Aug 1822 in Henderson County, Kentucky.^[7][8]

Transcription of Will:

In the name of God Amen I Archibald Galloway of Henderson County and state of Kentucky being of perfect mind and memory do hereby make this my Last will and Testament hereby ratifying and confirming the same.

First, I recommend my Soul to that God from whence it came hoping in a full pardon of all its offenses Against his Holy Law and a full enjoyment of eternal felicity hereafter.

2nd, it is my desire that all my Just debts be paid.

3. I give to my son John a bay horse.

Item, I lend to my beloved wife, Mary Galloway all my Estate both real and personal during her natural life or widowhood and at her death or intermarriage it is my wish that all the property be eaqually (sic) divided between my lawful children. I do appoint my wife and my friend Joseph Eades my Executors.

Research Notes

• It is generally believed that he was the son of John Galloway and Hannah Frances "Frankey" Unknown although he was not mentioned by that name in the will of his father, dated in 1808. His wife was Molly Folden, who most likely had some connection to Appa Folden, the wife of Edmond Galloway, who was listed in John's will as a son.

• The only child listed by name in the will of Archibald was John, who may have been the eldest son. From the wills of 1810 and 1820, it appears that Archibald and Mary may have had at least 6 sons and 2 daughters.
