Elias was born in 1850. He was the son of John H Galloway and Martha Durfee.
Elias graduated from the University of Michigan class of 1873, College of Literature, Science and the Arts. Alumni records show:
in 1900 Elias D. Galloway, '73, is engaged in the wholesale lumber business at Howell, Mich.
in 1912 was in Johnson City Tenn (The Michigan alumni, Vol 18)
