Nathan Gallup was born May 17, 1791 in Stonington, New London County, Connecticut, the son of Levi and Abigail (Packer) Gallup.

Nathan married Pamelia Baird (1797-1880) of Groton, Connecticut on January 1, 1815.

The 1820 U.S. Census shows a Nathan Gallup living in Jefferson, Schoharie County, New York.[1]
The 1830 and 1840 U.S. Censuses each list Nathan Gallup living in Schoharie County, New York. The ages given on the census forms closely match the birth dates of each of the family members.[2][3]
In the 1850 U.S. Census, Nathan is listed at the age of 59 with his wife Pamelia and sons John and William living in Summit, Schoharie County, New York. Living with them is a 17 year old Rachael Warner. Also listed nearby on the same form are sons Bedent and Silas with their families.[4]
The 1855 New York State Census shows Nathan and Pamelia with their 18 year old son William living on their own farm in Summit, New York. Their son Bedent and his wife Adeline are shown to be living nearby.[5]
In the 1865 New York Census, Nathan and Pamelia are shown living with their son Bedent, his wife Adeline and their three children on the farm in Summit.[6]
Nathan Gallup died July 21, 1865 and was buried at the
Old School Baptist Church Cemetery in Jefferson, Schoharie County, New York. Pamelia (Baird) Gallup died December 13, 1880 and was buried beside Nathan.[7]
