Lucy was born on 18 November 1827 in Canada. She was the daughter of Zadock Gallup and Lucy Young.^[1]

Lucy arrived in 1850. Age: 23^[2]

When Lucy was 27 she married Charles P Knapp on 25 October 1855 in Wisconsin, USA. The couple had 6 children: Evaline C Knapp, Florence A Knapp, Edwin D Knapp, Cornelius C Knapp, Fannie F Knapp and Frank E Knapp.^[3]
