William was born in 1874. He was the son of John Gallwey and Charlotte Bruce. He passed away in 1934.
In Nov 1890 he was listed in the results of the Sydney University Junior Exam, served in Boer War, moved to Mossman soon afterwards, 1913/25 paymaster and weighbridge clerk at Mossman Central Mill for many years, m. 1927 Marion (Woodcock) Wilson (relict of Thomas Wilson (m. 1900/C500) by whom she had a dau Mabel Raynor Wilson b. 1901/C2029). He was a keen sportsman, well liked, holidayed in England 1930, and he died 9 Nov 1934 in Mossman hospital, no Gallwey issue.
