William was born in 1869. He was the son of Daniel Gallwey and Anne Flood. He was educated at Stanthorpe and Dalby, Queensland and from school joined Queensland National Bank (QNB). At one time he was resident at Dawson Road, Rockhampton, QLD, then in 1897 in Brisbane. He married in the Archbishop's Private Chapel, Darra, Brisbane and he resided 1903 at Winchilsea, Cordelia St, Brisbane South, bank clerk; 1913 he was accountant; 1916 resided at Dawson St, Rockhampton and 1919 at Moffat St, Herberton, Kennedy, QLD; 1925 & 1928 he was at QNB Goombungee and in 1930 at Mocatta St, Highfields, Darling Downs where he was Bank Manager. In 1920 he was active in the Children's Welfare Association, and he was an expert on the Queensland coast. He passed away on 3 or 4 Jan 1931. He was buried at Toowong Cemetery aged 62 years, and his Will is No 1931/95 item 743558, Prev Sys SCT/P1745.
