Biography

Williams birth date is debatable as it is the thought of other genealogists that there was a second William born to John Galt and Agnes Guthrie about 1805 which would correlate with William Galts age at his death in 1871. To my knowledge there is not a record noting a second William born abt 1805 so will go with what was noted at the time of research.
