Biography

Hubert was born about 1622. He passed away about 1676. Note that the ancestral notes give a date of death of 1676, although Burke's gives 1662. Burke's date of 1662 is believed to be an error, as the probate record is of 1677. The will confirms that he lived in Hinton St George and was a yeoman. In the Galton papers, family members recognised the signature of his son, John Galton of Yatton, in the probate records. At the time of his marriage, his cousin (Rev Edward Galton, MA) was the vicar of Wool, which may explain this choice of wedding venue.
