Sophia (Galucia) Smith is the descendant of a Huguenot emigrant.
Sophia Galucia was born and baptised on 22 April 1819 in Williamstown, Berkshire County, Massachusetts; parents: Jacob Galusha and Betsey (Manchester) Galusha.[1][2][3]
She married Charles Smith in Allegany County, New York,[4]
In 1850 she was living with her husband, Charles (30), and their children in Fulton, Rock County, Wisconsin:

In 1860 she was living with her husband, Charles (40), and their children in Hamilton, Houston County, Minnesota:

In 1880 she was living with her son, Herbert (22), and daughter, Mary (18), in Houston, Houston County, Minnesota.[8]
She died on 6 September 1894 in Houston, Houston County, Minnesota, and was buried in Johnstons Cemetery.[9][10]
