Elisha Howell Gambell, (10 Jun 1808 - 23 May 1890)
On 10 June 1808 in Williamson County, Tennessee, Elisha Howell Gambell was born to Milton Gambill and Temperance Howell.
On 21 April 1842 in Coffeyville, Yalobusha, Mississippi, Elisha Howell Gambell married Sarah Ann Hendricks.
On 30 Jan 1860 in Cass county, Texas, Elisha Howell Gambell married Mary Elizabeth Glass.
On 23 May 1890 in Mount Pleasant, Titus County, Texas, Elisha Howell Gambell died. His remains were laid to rest in the Masonic Cemetery, Mount Pleasant, Titus County, Texas.
A F.A.G. memorial has been created for him. There is a description of the cemetery and grave and there is also a photo of the tombstone. It is a large tombstone but the photo shows that it is quite dirty and stained. It is engraved "E. H. Gambell." The inscription reads, "Husband dear take thy rest, The summer flowers will bloom, While you the purest and best doth wither in the tomb."
