1881 Census lists his birthplace as Cheswick, Cumberland. This is most likely Keswick in Cumberland^[3]

1891 Census just lists his birthplace as Cumberland^[4]

1901 Census lists his birthplace as Blymbothen, Cumberland^[5]

John was listed as an Invalid in the March 1901 census and died later that same year aged 52. His death is recorded in the Oct-Dec Quarter^[6]
