When Lillian Gambrell was born on March 28, 1912, in Anderson, South Carolina, her father, Almond, was 31, and her mother, Pearl, was 28. She had three brothers and one sister. She died on May 17, 1912, in her hometown within a year of her birth, and was buried in Honea Path, South Carolina.[1]
