Red was born in Nebraska to a preacher, Levi Gamet and Emma Xeriffa Gamet. According to family stories, Red left home at age 13 because his father was a hellfire and brimstone- type preacher. When he left his parent's home he travelled around the county. He worked for a railroad as an engine winder and retired with a pension. Red had 8 or 10 siblings: Elva Wilson, Pearl, Evelyn, Bailey, and Irene Gamet. Red and Eulalie lived in Woodburn, Oregon 1/1995-1-2004, according to US Public Records, familysearch.org,1970-2009. Date of death 1/10/1991 another source has 1/12/1991
