↑ Source: #S819 Data: Text: Hi Rod: The death index for 1935 gives Jessie Ewing ARNOTT, which agrees with the marriage of Jessie Ewing GAMMIE to David ARNOTT in ABD Huntly 1885. 1901 CEN for Auchterderran ed 1 has David 41, Jessie 41, Jessie 13, Alex 11, Lizzie 9 (which is who I started looking for as she had to be somewhere around in 1901) and others including 3 small boys but I see no deaths to help here. 1891 CEN index ed,1, p.23 has David 31, Jessie 31, Jessie M 3, Alexander 1, and a Maggie who is either irrelevant or a sister? There is a Jessie Moyes A b.1887 in Kinglassie, fits both age of census and date of marriage. 1881 CEN best fit to above David is David U,21 Joiner Journeyman with bro Thomas U,19 coal miner both b. Kinglassie and living Auchterderran Denend Colliery. The only David ARNOT(T) registered as b. Kinglassie between 1855 & 1870 is - guess what - s/o Alexr ARNOT & Janet MOYES. I think I rest my case. I'll leave it to you to decide why they were marrying in ABD. Let me know what you think. Regards, Gillian. PS. No marriage for Alexander to Constance CARRON up to 1926 which is the current limit of my index. There are no other marriages of Elizabeth ARNOT(T) to HERD or To McEWAN other than those we have up to 1926 in SCT.
