John Council married Georgia Ann Mobley on 1/17/1909 in Bartow, FL. Georgia Ann was born in Bartow, GL, on 1/26/1889, and she died on 7/22/1970. Both are buried in Bethel Cemetery, Socrum Community, Lakeland, FL. Georgia Ann Mobley was the daughter of Levi Ellis Mobley and Hannah Caroline Taylor. Hannah C. Taylor was the daughter, born 2/10/1856, of Lewis Tillman Taylor and Tabitha Lee Taylor. (See also the Green William Gandy family. Three daughters of Green William married sons of Lewis Tillman and Tabitha Lee Taylor.)
A letter, dated June 13, 1903, postmarked Eloise, FL (a little area between Lakeland and Lake Wales), bearing 2 cents postage, was sent by John Council to his brother, Jared Jackson Gandy, in Lyle, AL. The letter notes a recent visit by "Uncle John" (presumably John Madison Gandy), and makes plans for John Council to visit relatives in GA and AL. It indicates that John Council does not plan to return to FL; yet, he was married in FL six years later.
