Gandy, Gandy moved to Robstown in Nov 19, 1913, and established an 800 acre. blackland farm on which he raised sheep, cattle and other livestock. He. was a cotton grower on a large scale. In 1939 he moved to Corpus Christi and went into partnership with C.A. Robertson Sr. in the Gandy-Robertson Oil Co., now Crystal Petroleum Co. The firm was named after his wife, Crystal Robertson Gandy. Gandy was on the board of stewards of the First Methodist Church for a. number of years and was active in the church's Men's Bible Class. He was a. 29 year member of the Downtown Kiwanis Club and a member of the Knife and. Fork Club. He served on the Corpus Christi School Board nine years. _________________________ Francis I. Gandy. Is Found Dead. Francis I. Gandy, 325 Bartlett Drive, co-owner of Crystal Petroleum Co. and a prominent Robstown farmer, was found dead about 7:45 a.m. today in the tractor shed of his farm, six miles southwest of Robstown. Justice of the Peace V. V. Figueroa of Robstown said Gandy, 77, apparently died while working on farm machinery in the shed. Cage-Mills Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements. Born in Hays County, May 16, 1891, the son of W. J., and Miss Dawn Marie Gandy of Houston; a brother, A. C. Gandy of Robstown (another brother, W. S. Gandy, died about two years ago); four sisters, Mrs. Clyde Langford of Corpus Christi, Mrs. Fred Adams of Austin, Mrs. Mary Bickler of El Paso and Mrs. Leland Mosley of Brownwood, and two grandchidren, Jennifer Lynn and Michelle Lee McGinnis.
