George Beaven Middleton Gane was born on 4 Aug 1880 in Fordingbridge, Hampshire, England, United Kingdom. His parents were George Richard Gane, a bank manager, and Mary Eliza Oates. ^[1]

During the 1881 England census George was still an infant and living with his parents, siblings and servants at their home in Fordingbridge, Hampshire. ^[2]

In 1901, when George was 20 years old he was working as a bank clerk in Beaminster, Dorset, England, United Kingdom^[3]

His father passed away in 1907. During the 1911 census, the final one in the United Kingdom, George was working as a Bank Clerk in Fordingbridge, Hampshire, England, United Kingdom. ^[4]

He emigrated to Canada in about 1913 with his mother and sisters. Later that summer he married Elize Constance Neave on 20 Aug 1913 in Rock Creek, British Columbia, Canada. George was 33 years old, a Rancher at Bridesville, British Columbia and of the Church of England.
