She married Seth Crofoot sometime before 1840 when their first child, Mary, was born.[1]
By 1850, Eliza and Seth were living in Conewango, Cattaraugus, New York with 4 children:
Mary I (10),
William L (7),
Juliette (4),
and Horace (1).[1]
Sometime between 1851 and 1858, the family moved to Byron Township, Buchanan, Iowa where we find them living in 1860 with 2 new children:
John (9 - born in NY)
and Charles (2 - born in Iowa).[2]
Research Notes
1850 Census shows and an older lady named Lydia Gorman (57, from Canada) who may have been Eliza's mother, or some other relative?
Assumed death date before Seth's remarriage in 1870.
