William was born 26 Oct 1845 in Clayton, Al and died on 1 July 1927 in McDavid, Florida. William is the son of William G. Gannon, Sr.-(1808-1863) and Sarah B. Joiner-(1818-1893).
William married Mary Ann Susan Howell-(1849-1942), on Dec. 24, 1868 in Bullock County, Alabama, and together they had these known children listed below;

William Gaston Gannon, who died July 1, 1927 has CSA pension application pages on line in the Georgia Archives Virtual vault. Proof of his death in Escambia Co, F. is also included. He says he enlisted in 1862 in Eufaula, Al with Co. K, Jeff Davis Legion of the Alabama Cavalry. He surrendered with his unit in Greensboro, N C. on May 3, 1865.
