Biography
Mary E. Gannon was born to Charles Gannon (born in Ireland) and Bridget O'Connor (born in Ireland) circa 1868. [1]
On 23 Jul 1860 at the time of the 1860 US Census, head of household Charles Gannon (age 36, born in Ireland) was employed as a Blacksmith and living in a home he owned valued at $3,000 in 3rd Division 12th Ward, New York City with his wife Bridget Gannon (age 27, born in NY), son Charles Gannon (age 7, born in NY), son Francis Gannon (age 5, born in NY), and daughter Mary E. Gannon (age 3, born in NY). [2]
Marriage and Family
On 1 Jun 1880 at the time of the 1880 US Census, head of household Chas A. Carr (age 25, born in NY) was employed as a FIre Insurance Agent and living at 9 Eagle Street in Utica, New York with his wife Mary E. Carr (age 23, born in NY), daughter Grace Carr (age 7 months, born in NY), and domestic servant Katie Eagan (age 30, born in Ireland). Both of Charles' parents were born in New York; both of Mary's parents were born in Wales. [3]
Death and Legacy
On 7 May 1938, Mary E. (Gannon) Carr died at age 70 in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York, USA. Mary was widowed at the time, and had been living at 1401 Dean Street in Brooklyn. Mary was buried at Calvary Cemetery. [4]
