Biography

Obituary: Waterville Telegraph, May 2 1957-- Schrilda Ann Zeller Schrilda Ann Gano Zeller was born September 20, 1881 on a farm three and one-half miles orth of Barnes, Kansas, and she departed this life April 23 1957 at the age of 75 years, 7 months and 3 days. She was one of twelve children. She was married to Frank Zeller on May 15 1907, and to this union were born six children. Her husband, Frank, and one son, Merle, preceded her in death. In 1917 the family moved to Barnes. In her early age Ann, as she was known, became a member of the Christian Church in Waterville, Kansas; and later transferred to the Methodist Church in Barnes, Kansas, where she remained a faithful member her entire life. She was also a member of the Ladies Aid of the Church; Rebekah Lodge and American Legion Auxiliary. She leaves to mourn her passing; two daughters: Mrs. George Press, Barnes, kansas, and Mrs. Seth Cook, Hanover, Kansas; three sons, Harold, Topeka, Kansas, Alva, Barnes, Kansas and Roy, Beatrice, Nebraska; twelve grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters; Mrs. Lizzie Perkins, Hanover, Kansas and Mrs. Phoebe Ricard, Barnes, Kansas; and a host of relatives and friends. The funeral service was conducted in the Methodist Church, Barnes, Kansas; with The Rev. Mr. J.W. Stalions. pastor, officiating, April 25th at two o'clock. The quartet from the church; Mrs. Elmer Brun, Mrs. Harold Holt, Mr. Dan Nanninga, and Mr. Homer Oberhelman, sang; No Night There" and Mrs. Elmer Brun and Mrs. Harold Holt sang "Beyond the Sunset" accompanied by Mrs. Homer Oberhelman at the piano. The pallbearers were Orville and Jess Perkins, George Gano, Lloyd Gano, Edgar Rosebaugh and Warren Ricard. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery. Waterville, under the direction of Youngberg Funeral Home.
