Joseph Charles Trefflé Garceau was born and baptized on 11 May 1858 in Trois-Rivières, son of Callixte Garceau and of Marie Mathilde Lesieur dite Desualniers.[1]

Treffle Garceau, son of Euchariste Garceau and of the late Justine Desaulniers, married Élise Garceau, daughter of Ephrem Garceau and of Mathilde Desaulniers, on 27 January 1880 in Pointe-du-Lac, both being of age.[2] There is notice of consanguinity.[3]

2 known children who married to the couple.[4]

Marriage 2
Treffle Garceau, resident of Yamachiche and widower of Élise Garceau, remarried on 14 June 1899 in Ste-Geneviève (now Pierrefonds)[5] with Alexina Brunet, daughter of Thomas Brunet and of Virginie Pilon.[6]

His father is called variously Euchariste, Joseph, Calixte, Joseph Calixte, Joseph Euchariste on the various records during his marriage. His mother is actually called Mathilde or Marie Mathilde, only Treffle's marriage names her Justine. Her family name is Lesieur dite Desaulniers or Desaulniers dite Lesieur (Lesieur more likely birth name)
