Dad was a Korean War Vet in the U.S Air Force. He left the service after 4 years and was Staff Sergeant. He was an aircraft mechanic.
Dad was and electronics specialist for the General Electric Company in Los Angeles. He spent 29 years there, the last 3 as a manager. After GE closed shop, he then went to work for the City of Los Angeles where he had a ten year career as a Electrical Communications Technician. He provided service and repair for the Police and Fire Departments.
In is off time he was an original DIY guy. All neighbors and family would come to him for advice and assistance with any number of issues. He alway had time to lend a hand.
One of the best times in his life were coaching his son's baseball teams. He was a very successful coach, and was loved by all his players. Many would seek him out just to reminisce about how great it was to be coached by him. But his grandchildren and great grandchildren gave him the most pleasure in his later years. He enjoyed their success in life just as if they were his own.
He was an old school dad, Mom stayed home to care for the kids. He came home every day at 5PM and we all ate together. Unless there was baseball practice.
Emilio was born in 1929. He passed away in 2018.
