OBITUARY: HELEN S. GARCIA, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister, passed into the presence of Jesus, Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Mesilla Valley Hospice. She was 88 years old. She was born in Taos, on March 22, 1932 and is survived by her son George (Patricia) Garcia of Las Cruces; granddaughter, Lynda (Chase) Najera, of Holladay, UT; grandson, Steven Rel, of Los Lunas; great granddaughters, Remington and Preslee Najera, also of Holladay, UT. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Adonagos Garcia, Her loving daughter, Donna Rel; sisters, Mary Espinoza & Virginia Cortez; brothers, Felipe Garcia, Joe Garcia, Gilbert Garcia, and John Garcia. Helen was a devoted Roman Catholic with an enduring faith in God. She was loved by all who knew her as well as being a loving wife, mom, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, cousin and friend. She will be mourned and dearly missed by all. Visitation will begin at 10 AM Monday, January 4, 2021 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral, 1240 S. Espina Street and the Rosary will be recited at 10:30 AM. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated immediately thereafter. The Rite of Committal and Interment will be held at a later date at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Serving as casket bearers will be family. Due to the Covid-19 restrictions, capacity of attendees will be limited and everyone is asked to please wear a mask. Thank you.
