Arie was born before 14 August 1698 when he was baptized at the Reformed Dutch Church of Albany. He is the son of Andries Gardenier and Eytje Aires.[1]
He married Elizabeth Van Slyck on 8 January 1723 at the Reformed Dutch Church of Albany.[2]

According to Jacobus and Waterman (Volume 2, Addenda page 689; see below), Johanna Gardenier (Gardenier-134) was the eldest child of Arie, and is mentioned in the will of her brother William of Kinderhook.
