Biography

Samuel Gardenier was born about 1666, a son of Jacob Jansen Flodder Gardenier and Josina. [1]

He married Helena Beyst (Bye) about 1689.[2]

3488. Elizabeth Gardenier. Born ca 1702 in Kinderhook, Columbia Co., NY. Elizabeth was baptized in Kinderhook, Columbia Co., NY, on 19 May 1702.144 At K. Lysbeth, of Samuel Gardeniers and Helena Bye. Wit.: Burger Huyck, Rachel Dingmans.

On 2 Oct 1734 Elizabeth married John Cooper.

3489. Samuel Gardenier. Born ca 1704 in Kinderhook, Columbia Co., NY. Samuel was baptized in Reformed Dutch Church of Albany, on 18 Jun 1704.144 Samuel, of Samuel Gardenier and Lena Dirkse By. Wit.: Cornelis Maasse, Catelyntje Dingmans. Samuel died on 11 Sep 1765.

On 22 Jun 1736 Samuel married Barentje Barheyt, daughter of Johannes Barheyt & Catharine Gilbert, in Reformed Dutch Church of Albany. Born on 14 Oct 1711 in Albany, NY.

3490. Engeltie Gardenier. Born ca 1707 in Kinderhook, Columbia Co., NY. Engeltie was baptized in Reformed Dutch Church of Albany, on 12 Jan 1707.144 Engeltje, of Samuel Gardenier and Lena By. Wit.: Nicolaas Gardenier, Josina Dingmans.

ca 1730 Engeltie married Johannes Schermerhorn, son of Jacob Jacobse Schermerhorn (ca 1661-20 Jun 1743) & Gerritje Hendrickse Van Buren (ca 1662-20 Jan 1710). Born ca Jul 1700 in Albany, NY. Johannes was baptized in Albany, NY, on 21 Jul 1700.

3491. Hendrick Gardenier. Born ca 1709 in Kinderhook, Columbia Co., NY. Hendrick was baptized in Reformed Dutch Church of Albany, on 30 Oct 1709.144 Hendrik, of Samuel Gardenier and Helena Bey. Wit.: Andries and Josina Gardenier.

On 7 May 1744 Hendrick married Maria Dingman.

He died about 1740. His will was dated 28 Jan 1709/1710, proved 6 Nov 1740. It mentions wife Helena, son Dirck and seven other children, unnamed. He had both real and personal estate. He lived in Kinderhook.[3]
