Martha was born about 1873 in Newland, Yorkshire, England. In 1881 she lived with her parents, William and Martha, on Alexandra Road, Rose Street, in Cottingham, Yorkshire.[1]
In 1893 Martha married Freeman Holt;[2] the family lived in Howden, Yorkshire, in 1901,[3] and in Balkholme, Yorkshire, in 1911. Freeman was a farmer.[4]
