David Stuart Gardiner married Janet Ness on 30 December 1833 in Dundee, Angus, Scotland. The couple had 8 children: James Gardiner, David Gardiner, Julia Ann Gardiner, George Gardiner, John Peter Gardiner, Mary Martin Gardiner, Euphemia Thompson Gardiner and Jemima Field Gardiner.^[1]
