Nathaniel Gardner was born May 18, 1735 the son of Nathaniel Gardiner and Sarah (Pierce) Gardiner in Kingston, Rhode Island. [1][2] Nathaniel married Sara Carpenter aroun 1752 and they had two children, Benoni, and Sarah. Nathaniel Gardiner fought in the revolutionary war on the side of the British, was captured as a prisoner of war, and was "treated with great cruelty by the rebels, while in Casco prison". After the war Nathaniel moved to Maine, and it is noted that is where is descendants may be found. [3] A
